Hearless allows users to upload, record, or share audio files for transcription, including audio shared from other applications via the device's share feature (share intent). Audio files are processed only to convert speech into text.

1.2 Transcription Data

The text generated from your audio is processed and displayed within the app.

1.3 Account Information

When you sign in, we use Firebase Authentication which may collect:

• Email address
• User ID

1.4 Stored User Data

We may store limited user-related data (such as usage credits or app-related data) to provide and manage app functionality.

1.5 Usage Data

We may collect non-personal usage data, including:

• App interactions
• Session duration
• Features used

How We Use Your Information

• To provide audio transcription services

Audio Processing & Backend Infrastructure

When you submit audio for transcription, your audio file is sent securely to our private backend server hosted on Render (render.com). Our backend acts as a secure intermediary between the app and the transcription API.

Our backend then forwards the audio to OpenAI's Whisper API for speech-to-text transcription. Audio data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Audio files are processed temporarily and are not stored permanently on our servers unless required for specific functionality. Temporary files are automatically purged after processing is complete.

We do not use your audio for advertising, model training, or any purpose unrelated to providing the transcription service you requested.

Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services. Each processes data according to their own privacy policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data only:

• With service providers required to operate the app (listed above)
• To comply with legal obligations
• To prevent fraud or misuse

Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide services. Audio files are temporarily stored during processing and are automatically deleted once transcription is complete. They are not stored permanently unless required for a specific feature you have opted into.

Data Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including:

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
• API keys and credentials are stored securely on our backend server and are never included in or exposed through the mobile application
• Our backend acts as a secure proxy to prevent direct exposure of third-party API credentials
• Temporary audio files are automatically purged after processing

However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your data
• Stop using the app at any time

Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

International Users

Your data may be processed in different countries, including where our backend infrastructure (Render) and third-party services (OpenAI, Firebase) operate. By using the app, you consent to such processing.
